He lit the fire!

Me and Dr. James E. Joy, Associate Professor at my undergraduate alma mater, Marshall University. His excellent vision (pun intended) saw something in me worth pursuing. As a student of his parasitology class, he encouraged me to do independent studies and research in the field. We eventually published a journal article together. His letter of recommendation surely played no small role in my acceptance to optometry school. He is a GIANT among college professors and deserves a standing ovation, though he would protest the very idea. Thank you, Joy. You mean the world to me. Keep up the fight.
